Now I'll be the first one to admit that I usually cringe when people act as if they know better than NFL general managers. The old "if you know so much, why aren't you a GM?" line has always been an excellent way to dismiss someone's idea, and I'm not trying to act like I know more than Steelers Director of Football Operations (that's a fancy term for GM) Kevin Colbert. But I really just do not understand this move. 

My problem with the signing isn't just that it means two of the Steelers' best offensive linemen from the past three seasons are now gone, but also because we still don't know what Colon is capable of after season-ending Achilles surgery nfl jerseys kids last year. 

Now I realize Colon was with the team for most of last year and they likely got to see how he progressed following the surgery but since the lockout they have had zero contact with Willie and/or any medical staff who could evaluate him. I'm sure they will make or have made Colon undergo a physical before signing his contract but just because he can pass a physical there is no guarantee he will be able to play at even the mediocre level Steelers fans have become accustomed to since he was drafted out of Hofstra in 2006. 

Coming into the season it certainly looked like the Steelers had, for the first time since Roethlisberger's sophomore season in 2005, a mostly solid offensive line. But within a span of 48 hours those hopes wholesale NFL jerseys have been dashed and Steelers fans are wondering what exactly it is that the coaching staff loves about Willie Colon and when he will get around to showing it to the rest of us. 

I've been wrong about player signings before, and I can say without a doubt that I will be wrong about them again in the future. This is one signing that I do not hesitate to express my hatred for. I do not think nfl jerseys Colon is even an average right tackle. If I'm wrong, and Willie shows that he is worth the time and money the Steelers have invested in him, I will gladly nfl jerseys cheap eat my words. 

I will be eagerly awaiting the day that Willie Colon proves me wrong. I just have a bad feeling that I will be waiting a long time. I just hope it's not five years.
